EL – BAR 2
It’s officially out. The long awaited BAR 2 mix tape by EL was released last week and the fans of hip hop are screaming FIRE! The mix tape is the second installment in the BAR series-the BAR 1 was released last year. Read the review here.
Drafting some of the hottest hip hop producers and best MC on the scene, EL not only continued from where he left off (on BAR 1) but proved once again that his versatility is tunnel deep. With this, he is sending a signal to his contemporaries that, he is indeed the ‘King Without A Crown’
.With tracks such as 10 Commandments, Wosop, All Black, King Without A Crown, This Is Crazy Chale getting the fans going, Unity, 16 Bars, Work 2, Inside Out exhibit the craftsmanship of EL over beats.
JOEY B ft EL – WOW
As a birthday gift to his fans, Joey B shared a new single WOW. Tapping EL on the song, Joey B, in what has become his trademark style-mid tempo beat inducing a laid back flow- is heard praising a woman’s physique in an unsurprisingly salacious tone.
WOW, produced by B2 and cast in similar mould as Tonga carries a feel good vibe and sing along hook-one to make rounds on radio and dance floors but not make a major impact as his breakthrough song Tonga.

EFYA FT SARKODIE – JORLEY
With her maiden album scheduled for release on October, 10th Efya continues to serenade. Last week, she debuted a new single, Jorley featuring Sarkodie and produced by KillBeatz.
Jorley (My love) is a love song-where the two assures each other of their love. This continues the collaborative relationship between the two award winning artistes. Efya’s unmistakable voice hits good at the soul of the listener and Sarkodie kept it prim.
DARK SUBURB ft WIYAALA – MAMA
‘You dey think say/ there will be no way, but all this mistakes go make you fail’, Wiyaala’s voice rises over the single guitar riff, piano chords and high hats before the full ensemble of instruments break out.
Mama is the second single from Ghana’s foremost afro rock band, Dark Suburb whose Hustle featuring EL received tones of praise. Mama is a celebration of womanhood (Africa). The blend of voices (Wiyaala’s strong voice and the deep, husky tone of Dark Suburb’s the lead singer) complemented by the live recorded rock vibrations leaves the listener appreciating the beauty of this collaboration.
