The Accra Premiere of the World’s First American Nollywood Film – Jules David Bartkowski is Pastor Paul – starring Wanlov the Kubolor and Funsho Ogundipe of the Internationally Acclaimed Afrobeat/Jazz band Ayetoro.
Pastor Paul is a feature film about a white tourist in West Africa who is possessed by a ghost after acting in a Nollywood movie.
According to Jules David Bartkowski (Director), he had the inspiration and conception of the film as far back as July 2012. He noticed that Nollywood movies often depict various traditional African practices including the activities of Priests and Priestesses. More inspiration came after he had read an article on the facebook page of Wanlov the Kubolor about a ‘white’ man who acted in a Nollywood film and later had the idea that this man could be possessed by a ghost. The film seeks to dismantle the old imagery of the white man in Africa having influence and power.

Filmed both in Ghana and Nigeria, the film will be screening on Saturday 26th September, 2015 at the Alliance Française Accra Amphitheatre at 7pm. The screening will be immediately followed by a concert featuring the stars of the film: The Pastor Paul Revival Revue.
