KOOKUSI & RBD RELEASE JOINT EP ”ADDICTS ANONYMOUS”
Addicts Anonymous is a joint RBD-Kookusi concept album set in a group therapy session, depicting nine individuals battling various addictions. The album features artists Arathejay, Anabel Rose, and producers Rdeebeatz, Wolfbite, and Christoven.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
KooKusi is a storytelling rap artist with roots in neuroscience research, who speaks to the intricacies of mental health and socio-culturally relevant human experiences.
R.B.D. is a hip-hop rap artist, who doubles as a practicing lawyer. He uses dark storytelling to explore his own personal experiences, and occasionally addresses socially relevant issues.
Over the past two years, both artists have independently released two notable projects. In 2021, R.B.D. released his debut EP “Guess Who?” which signaled the end of a five-year hiatus due to law school. In 2022, KooKusi also released his debut EP “5foot3”, a project that addressed imperfections and insecurities. In 2022, R.B.D. released his sophomore EP “Still Guessing?”, a sequel to his debut. Naturally, the two artists collaborated on a popular single “Nowhere Cool”, a song that beautifully compared and contrasted Ghana and America’s socio-political climates, that ultimately featured on KooKusi’s sophomore EP titled “Greetings From Abroad” in 2023.
Presently, KooKusi and R.B.D. have worked jointly on an addiction-themed project, set in a group therapy session. The first single off the tape (Power) was released in 2023 with a cinematic video, and the full tape is expected to be released on August 9, 2024.
