A musical extravaganza honouring the music legend Kiki Gyan, will be held at Alliance Française Accra on Saturday 3rd October at 8pm
Music Legend Kiki Gyan of the Osibisa fame who immensely influenced our society through his musical endeavours, even placing Ghana on the world map as the fifth best pianist in the world will be celebrated in Accra.
Kiki Gyan, who was also known as Kiki Djan, was a Ghanaian musician. He was the keyboardist of the band Osibisaformed in the 1970s and stillthe most famous Ghanaian band abroad. He also recorded and produced a series of disco records.He was a prodigy who could play keyboards very well.
On this memorable night, some of Ghana’s biggest musical names including M.anifest, Adomaa, Ambolley, VVIP, Kojo Cue and Ewudze will take the stage in honour of the legend and to celebrate Ghanaian music as a whole. Simultaneously, the event will serve as the launch of the Kiki Gyan Foundation. The Kiki Gyan foundation was started last year which marked the tenth anniversary of the artist’s death to fulfil the last request of the music legend. The main aim of the foundation is to educate people on narcotic drugs and also raise money through music.
According to the organisers of the event, musicians selected to perform during the concert are thosewho had a history with Kiki Gyan either in the music industry or in his personal life.
Ambolley, a close friend of Kiki and also a member of the Osibisa fame will be playing from the heart to celebrate his friend.
There will also be a preview of a documentary about Kiki Gyan.
The concert will be held at Alliance Française Accra on Saturday 3rd October at 8pm.
