Worlasi will look back on 2016 with satisfaction; cause even though the year managed to kill Fidel Castro (a man with 638 assassination attempts), it couldn’t kill Worlasi’s vim. It has been a year where his talent was appreciated by many across the music spectrum-fans, industry people and artists. Off the back of his 2015 debut, Nusé, Worlasi’s profile has been growing. His fan base has increased and today, many tip the 26 year old for greater things.
This year, Worlasi released The UNCUT- a compilation tape of songs which didn’t make the Nusé album. He also earned features from M.anifest, EL and Hammer (on two songs; one of them along with Sarkodie). He also, worked with fellow compatriots AKAN, Cina Soul and Okuntakinte.  With him achieving a ‘moderate’ level of fame, it was not out of place to cap the year with a concert.

The sold-out Nusé Concert, staged at the amphitheater of Alliance Français, was an opportunity to prove to all that, his talents go beyond just singing; that he is a performer. Backed by the Safoa Band, the Supreme Rights artist performed songs from his two mixtapes to the hundreds that came out to see him. The infectious energy he exuded rubbed off the audience, who joined in singing, dancing and applauding each of his performance on the night.
Sharing the stage with Worlasi were WANLOV, M.anifest, Poetra Asantewa, AKAN, Cina Soul who performed songs such as Unlooking Rmx, 100%, Freedom, Helebaba and Lolonye respectively to the cheering of fans. Wanlov is one of the few artists who have influenced Worlasi’s musical style and also supported him from the very onset of his career.
Artists such as Xtacy, Six Strings, Kwame X with DJs Xpliph and Keyzz were on hand to support.
The turn out on the night showed how embracing fans are to the genre dubbed ‘alternative music’. It was also prove that, Worlasi has now been embraced by many and finally moving from the musical fringes to the centre where he indeed belongs. The Nusé Concert is not just a window of what the future holds for Mr. Efo W but a befitting thank you to his core fans.
