VIDEO REVIEW: DJ Juls feat L.A.X- Give You Love
DJ Juls continues his good run of form into 2017 with the release of the visuals for Give You Love, one of his big tunes of 2016. The video which features Nigerian crooner L.A.X, is strictly homegrown. The story is simple: two hearts fighting to bask in the glow of love despite objections from their parents.
With a village setting as a canvas, the director, Kemist Gold captures an imagery that is cinematic and actions that are easily relatable; like the girl’s father chasing after Juls (main character) or her mother venting at the sight of him or being held in your tracks at the sight of your ‘beloved’.
Give You Love according to Juls ‘was just an African story I wrote. (It) supposed to be a movie. (But) decided to make a video’. It is therefore unsurprising for one to glean traces of the original idea in the video. The acting was good and some of the captured scenes, such as the boat ride with the sun setting is scenic and the dinner date with those fireworks, brilliant.
