LADY JAY feat Sarkodie – VENUS
lady
2012. That was the year I first heard Lady Jay sing and I instantly fell in love with her voice. X-Ray, a spoken word piece by MutomboDaPoet was what introduced her to me. I subsequently saw her perform a couple of weeks after X-Ray dropped.
‘Stop! I beg this is my vibe don’t you kill it/Cup gettin’ empty then fill it’, sings Lady Jay on her new single Venus. Produced by Kuvie, Venus is a blend of Afro-pop and trap music (Afro Trap). With soft thumping fontomfrom drums and electro synths, Lady Jay delivers a new soundtrack.
The major disappointment with Venus is Sarkodie’s mediocre performance-something unimaginable from the best rapper around. That notwithstanding, Lady Jay has an anthem for all-my only beef with her is, she should be consistent and visible on the scene.

SDZ & DCMKS- AGORO
SDZI Tsegah and producer KaySO decided to unleash some electro heat on us with their new single Agoro (Games). With the global appeal for EDM (Electro Dance Music) spreading across borders, it is just right that Ghanaian music producers and artistes incorporate the new influence into some of their productions.
And this seems to be happening at a relatively measured rate. Agoro, with its catchy appeal and known chorus, be sure to hear it at various hangouts.

DONZY ft Kinaata – THE CRUSADE

Donzy teamed up with Kofi Kinaata to make a satirical song and an accompanying, mimicking what often transpires at some charismatic churches where the object of interest is not sharing the word but wealth; and the misinterpretation of the gospel.
The video captures church members taking selfies, passing on complementary cards, and exchanging phone numbers (very familiar right?). The Crusade is one to keep you excited.
