SUICIDE SARAH by POETRA ASANTEWA
AHEAD OF THE RELEASE of her anticipated maiden EP MotherFuckitude, poet Poetra Asantewa has released a video for her spoken word piece Suicide Sarah.
The poem tackles the issue of acceptance and self-esteem. She assures Sarah to ‘damn everyone, the calvary, the cross the saints and whores’ who belittle her and her capabilities.
‘Do they not know that the sun borrows its light from your fingertips?
Do they not know that you give colour to the rose?’
