Kwesi Arthur Remixes ‘Grind Day’ And Releases New Video

‘Don’t remix an already banging song unless you are going to make it better’. This has been a sermon I’ve been preaching for a while. But, as it is with artists, a hot song is one they often can’t resist laying a verse(s) on for variety of reasons.
Tema based and GroundUpChale artist, Kwesi Arthur has seen his influence grow in 2017, thanks to his incredible “Live From Nkrumah Krom EP”, and his viral freestyles. One of the songs that shot him to prominence was the trap influenced, roof raising anthem ‘Grind Day’.
The popularity of the Kayso produced song has led to a remix, featuring Sarkodie and Medikal AMG. Each artist dropped a ‘hustle to earn’ verse, augmenting a new verse from Kwesi Arthur.
The remix came with a new video directed by award winning Lex McCarthy. The video capture the raw energy that the song oozes; an element the original video failed to capture adequately.
Shot at selected locations within Tema, we see a shirtless Kwesi Arthur and crew riding bikes within the streets and neighbors joining the fun. There are scenes of Sarkodie rapping in a parking lot surrounded by a host of people.
Kwesi Arthur is also seen wearing a replica jersey of Hearts of Oak football Club, something rare to see artists do. I hope someone from Hearts of Oak would get this young, exciting rapper as a brand ambassador before his stock rises.
Did the remix meet expectation? Answer: The original still wins despite the remix having Sarkodie (whose verse was great) and Medikal who also did his best on it.
