SARKODIE IS THE NEW GUY
There has never been a time in the history of hip life where fans waited eagerly to hear a song from their beloved artiste. Since news broke that Ghana’s finest rapper, Sarkodie had collaborated with We Are The Best prince, Ace Hood, music enthusiasts have been in anticipation mood, ready to hear “New Guy’ and how Sarkodie would fare with an international hip hop act on a song – if Sarkodie could ‘kill’ it.
And, that’s what the most decorated hiplife artiste in Ghana did. Ignore the rancor surrounding the making of New Guy. Ignore the fact that the release of the track was pushed back. Sarkodie is the New Guy.
‘I’m the New Guy/I made it from the slums of Africa
Where a lot of ni**az commit suicide
Every story got two sides
T-Shirt, trying make it to suit and tie- Sarkodie
New Guy, which hit the radio this morning, is a story about making it from the dark pits of no-one-knows-him to the bright lights of success and fame, thanks to chasing the dream of success despite the obstacles.
The switch in Sarkodie’s flow-after the 0.43 sec. mark reminded many that the Lay Away hit maker has not lost the touch that made him a toast of fans when he entered the music scene. That machine gun rattling rap is still present.
Ace Hood delivered his verse in a Drake-like Versace flow-something different from his trademark hard, all-in delivery we know him for.
New Guy got twitter and other social media talking, drawing comments from song musicians and producers in Ghana.
Halfway thru, @sarkodie switched the flow. Then I said to my self “good luck AceHood”.

Sark, Medase (Thank You) said by Ace Hood is indeed apt and befitting.
