DJ JULS (Julian Nicco-Annan), one of Ghana’s foremost music producers of this era, released his first single Raise My Flag to great buzz on social media yesterday 20th August, 2014. The single features two of his (Juls) BBnZ label mate, Kojo-Cue and E.L along with Blackway.

julsOnDJ Juls had over the weeks leading up to the release of Raise My Flag announced via his twitter and Instagram of his upcoming single. The single is currently available on http://www.soundcloud.com/julsofficialmusic.

The virtuoso and evergreen producer crafted a beat boasting of horns and percussion, which saw Kojo-Cue throw in verses like

“The life and times of a Siano character/ wey Agya Koo no go fit portray …

I’m a black star thats surrounded by gold. Ma eye red and for the green I’ll be trading your souls

Tell Mahama I hold,

the flag high even when the Cedi drops

‘ cause I got love for my Ghana,

my Home…”

The track sees the rappers exhibiting not only their prowess in wordplay but the Ghanaian pride and nostalgic experience associated with growing up (living) in Ghana.

DJ Juls produced songs such as C-Real’s ‘Opeimu’, ‘I Told You So’ by Rumour, EL’s ‘Best African Rapper’ and Lyrical Wanzam’s ‘Thirty-Two’
